As Bluecadet’s first Director of Strategic Communications, Joel’s focus is telling the story behind the work we do.

Technology has become one of the principal drivers of change in the world, unlocking new narratives and giving voice to those formerly written out of history—it’s Joel’s job to make sure we’re documenting Bluecadet’s role in that process.

Before starting at Bluecadet in January 2017, Joel was an editor and producer at NPR affiliates in Los Angeles and Philadelphia and a producer for the public radio show Marketplace. Prior to that, he was the editor of SURFER Magazine, TransWorld SKATEboarding magazine, and Surfline.com. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife, their two kids, and Hazel, their blue-eyed dog.
