Bluecadet Refreshes Denison.edu
Denison University approached Bluecadet to quickly elevate their website in time for their new admissions cycle. The engagement began with a strategic assessment of the site, including a review of content needs and opportunities.
Working in close collaboration with Denison’s chief stakeholders and in-house development team, Bluecadet led the effort in redesigning key pages as well as authoring and deploying a scalable design and front-end development framework. This framework enabled the new vocabulary to be extended across the entire institutional site, while providing a foundation from which the Denison development team could continue to iterate.
The new design helps Denison communicate the culture and community on campus to prospective students and faculty—incorporating social media, student and faculty stories, as well as both textural and narrative video across the site. The refresh also includes a new navigation, as well as in line navigational design elements to help current students and faculty quickly navigate to the content they need.
In coordination with Denison’s team, Bluecadet was able to develop an agile release schedule, quickly iterating design patterns and rolling out key features as they became available. This process ensured that the redesigned pages would be launched strategically, when it was least disruptive to the university’s daily operations, while guaranteeing that the new design was in place for the beginning of the new admissions cycle.
