Our “Slavery at Monticello” app is featured on NPR

Our recently launched mobile app “Slavery at Monticello” has been featured on NPR’s All Tech Considered. We are incredibly proud of this work and invite you to read the article to learn more about the project: An App Tells Painful Stories Of Slaves At Monticello’s Mulberry Row.

The app is designed to enhance exploration and enrich the visitor experience at Monticello’s Mulberry Row–the hub of Thomas Jefferson’s plantation. The app’s advanced location-awareness features offer users content related to their location as they tour the historic site. It allows them to visualize what the place once was, as well as hear powerful personal stories from more than 100 descendants of former slaves who lived and worked there.
