Disarm:
A Documentary About the Landmine Issue

In their independent documentary film Disarm, filmmakers Mary Wareham (Next Step Productions) and Brian Liu (Toolbox DC) present a contemporary and provocative view of the forces challenging the achievement of a landmine-free world. Looking beyond mines, Disarm offers a contemporary, intelligent and critical investigation into how weapons systems, war, and the way it is waged are being redefined in the twenty-first century with devastating consequences.

The Disarm team asked bluecadet to create a website that would serve as a companion to the film. The site needed to accomplish several goals: (1) act as an online resource for ongoing developments on the landmine issue, (2) assist in distribution of the film by providing information and access to collateral to distribution channels, (3) showcase high-resolution still photography on the subject matter, (4) provide a means of communication between the team and the audience, (5) call visitors of the site to action and connect them to charities, and (6) create an online identity for the project that matched the film's innovative and contemporary feel.

bluecadet worked closely with the Disarm team to create disarmfilm.com. The site weaves together movie trailers, information on upcoming screenings, a photo gallery, a and media kit and press pack with a clean and sophisticated look and feel. Visitors can connect to charities to support the disarm effort and can keep up-to-date by signing up for an e-newsletter.
