For their “energy realities” website, National Geographic Maps asked Bluecadet to create a series of highly interactive infographics and maps that explore the story of energy: the history, current state, and future of our demand and dependence.
We worked closely with energy experts to interpret complex data sets on a range of issues, including global population density, fossil fuel reserves, and bio-fuel production.
We designed the website to showcase a range of infographics, multimedia features, and articles about energy use and production. Given National Geographic’s reputation for producing stunning photographic imagery, we incorporated photography into the design as a way to promote the brand and create visual interest. We also incorporated a live LinkedIn feed to foster discussions about important issues directly from the website.
Content rich website with integrated social media
Energy is both a complicated and critically important subject; it is one whose many aspects may be hard to grasp. Our infographics make it easier for users to process interconnected information, and interacting with the data helps guide them toward an understanding of the big picture. By presenting information in an interactive, visual format, Energy Realities connects people and data.
