Senior Back End Developer (full-time or freelance)

Job Summary

Bluecadet is looking for a Senior Back End Developer with strong Drupal skills to develop, test, and deploy CMSes and websites. You should be adept at breaking down complex content requirements, making CMS structures to support flexible content patterns, know how to prioritize work around desired outcomes and goals, support content author workflows, write custom modules and lead multiple developers on a project. Our ideal candidate is also curious about decoupling CMS architectures, front end development and JavaScript back end development/frameworks.

Our web team is based in Philadelphia. We are open to full-time or freelance candidates. Remote candidates will be considered.

Job Details

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.

  • Gathering and refining specifications and requirements based on technical needs.

  • Guiding developers and reviewing their code/implementation, effectively overseeing them on projects as needed.

  • Helping to maintain code quality, performance and application responsiveness.

  • Staying up to date on emerging technologies/industry trends that improve product development and end user experience. Sharing knowledge and applying that knowledge to projects.

  • Working effectively with Project Managers to prioritize, estimate, minimize scope overages and risk.

  • Collaborating with designers, producers, content devs, and other devs to deliver a successful project.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 4+ years of professional experience

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
