CreativeMornings with The Dufala Brothers
This January’s theme of Ugly will be explored by The Dufala Brothers.
This theme was chosen by the Geneva CreativeMornings organizer and is about embracing the ‘ugly’ beginnings of making any vision happen.
About The Dufala Brothers
Steven and Billy Dufala are a multidisciplinary practice whose primary concern is the collaborative creation of new work in a variety of media. Moving freely between disciplines, the brothers have created drawings, prints, sculpture, performance, music and design. They co-teach at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, help facilitate studio space for dozens of local artists, and are represented by Fleisher Ollman Gallery in Philadelphia. They have exhibited widely, and their work is in many public and private collections, including the West Collection, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
Billy is a co-founder RAIR, an artist residency located at Revolution Recovery, a construction and demolition waste recycling facility in northeast Philadelphia. Steven is a set designer, and has worked with many theater artists in Philadelphia and New York City. Both brothers have been members of the band Man Man, of which Steven is a founding member.
Join us for coffee and pastries Friday, January 23 from 8:30am – 10:00am at the Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch Street.
