Josh Goldblum

Founder & CEO

As Bluecadet’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Josh Goldblum is devoted to working with museums, universities, and nonprofit organizations to educate, engage and entertain through digital innovation.

He has conceptualized and created websites, mobile apps, interactive installations, and immersive environments for such organizations as MoMA, Smithsonian Institution, Doctors Without Borders, National Geographic, and over 20 prestigious institutions in Philadelphia. An expert in digital strategy and technology, Josh has been featured by NPR’s Morning Edition, CNN, The New Yorker, USA Today, HOW Magazine, Communication Arts, Adobe, People Magazine, and CBS News. His projects have been honored with an Emmy Award and several Webby, Webvisionary, ADDY, SXSW, and AAM MUSE Awards. He serves on the judging committees for the Emmy and Webby Awards.

Josh believes passionately that digital design—like all great art—can serve as a powerful, democratic vehicle for collaboration and connection. As a pioneer of technology in the service of culture, Josh has been a featured speaker at conferences including Museums and the Web, American Alliance of Museums (AAM), AIGA, and HOW Interactive Design Conference, as well as several universities and business organizations.

Josh holds a B.A. from Tufts University and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. After launching his career in digital media design at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC, he established Bluecadet in his hometown of Philadelphia in 2007—inspired by the city’s intersection of history, entrepreneurial spirit, and extraordinary creative talent. Josh was named “Best Digital Visionary” by Philadelphia Magazine in the August 2014 Best of Philly issue, and he was selected by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce as Small Business Person of the Year in 2014. He thrives on solving challenges and sharing stories in today’s language—one that marries hi-tech with human, content with craft.

Josh serves on the Board of the Philadelphia’s Children First Fund, the independent nonprofit organization supporting the School District of Philadelphia, and also on the advisory council of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife and two children.
