Digital Signage + Storytelling

The Princeton University Art Museum’s bold new building is a once-in-a-generation transformation, which offered a chance to rethink how digital could serve the Museum’s renewed commitments to accessibility and equity. Bluecadet led strategy, design, production, and original content creation for a suite of in-gallery films and digital signage that invite visitors in with clarity and care.

Built on a longstanding partnership with Princeton, this collaboration reflects a shared commitment to communicating complex ideas with warmth, precision, and respect for audience needs. For the Art Museum, Bluecadet served as a strategic and creative partner, shaping not just the execution, but the narrative and experience across platforms. In parallel, we redesigned the Museum's website to support pre-visit planning, deeper exploration, and ongoing engagement beyond the galleries.

Bluecadet began by identifying where new storytelling would make the greatest impact. We then produced a set of films spanning multiple production approaches, from new original footage of artist processes and interviews to stories built from archival media shaped with new narration, and adaptations of licensed long-form works. The Museum is equipped to continue producing new in-gallery media that scales to different schedules, budgets, and curatorial needs. Audio cups keep sound intimate and contained, while clear captions ensure accessibility.

In the lobby, large digital signage serves as a welcoming first experience in the Museum, showcases the richness of the collection, communicates brand values, and displays info about exhibitions, storytelling, wayfinding, and operational needs. Flexible templates allow Museum staff to create and update content easily. Text is intentionally brief and readable at a distance, capturing attention without overwhelming.

Across every format, Bluecadet produced the stories, scripts, media, and guiding narratives that shape these screens, serving as a trusted partner throughout content, design, and experience. Our work created a cohesive digital ecosystem across physical and online experiences. The result is a digital layer that adds context without competing with the art, offering new entry points for learning while preserving the authenticity of the gallery experience.
